El suposat l\u00edder de la banda, Josep Trias Campa\u00f1a, s&#8217;havia escapat fa cinc mesos de la pres\u00f3 de Girona i actualment vivia a Tordera, on tenia la base d&#8217;operacions. Fa anys ja havia estat detingut per haver falsificat targetes i tamb\u00e9 l&#8217;havien jutjat, amb dos companys, per vuit atracaments. El 20 de maig els mossos van irrompre al domicili de Trias a Tordera i el van detenir. Li van comissar lectors gravadors de targetes, un ordinador, discos durs i 500 targetes verges preparades per imprimir-les i distribuir-les. Tant feia servir numeracions de targetes robades com numeracions que les entitats banc\u00e0ries encara no havien adjudicat. Els Mossos han identificat deu camioners que haurien fet servir les targetes falsificades per fer pagaments a l&#8217;Estat espanyol, l&#8217;Estat franc\u00e8s i It\u00e0lia. Amb aquesta martingala, haurien estafat almenys 70.000 euros. Els quatre detinguts estan acusats dels delictes de falsificaci\u00f3 de moneda i estafa banc\u00e0ria.
