La torre de Can Toni Joan de Tordera i diverses torres de guaita i castells que es van construir al Maresme entre els segles XVI i XVII com a talaies de vigil\u00e0ncia i de defensa dels pirates i dels corsaris es recullen ara en una guia que ha editat el Consorci de Promoci\u00f3 Tur\u00edstica. D’aquestes construccions es conserven actualment 55 que es troben repartides al llarg de tota la comarca, des de Montgat fins a Tordera.<\/p>\n

Avui dia les torres que encara estan en \u00fas formen part de masies o d’edificis que poc fan pensar en pirates o bandolers, per\u00f2 que, sens dubte, s\u00f3n un vestigi important d’aquella \u00e8poca. L’opuscle editat pel Consorci de Turisme aporta una imatge i informaci\u00f3 de cadascuna d’elles per atreure l’inter\u00e8s del possible visitant, potenciant aix\u00ed el turisme cultural. De cada edificaci\u00f3 s’explica breument la seva ubicaci\u00f3, si es pot visitar el seu interior o no, les seves caracter\u00edstiques i es recomanen altres visites d’inter\u00e8s dins el mateix municipi. En el cas de la torre de Can Toni Joan de Tordera va ser constru\u00efda l’any 1557, en \u00e8poca de la vescomtessa Anna II de Cabrera, casada amb Lu\u00eds Enr\u00edquez, duc de Medina de Rioseco. Formava part del sistema defensiu costaner i es comunicava, amb fogueres, amb les torres ve\u00efnes de Blanes i Palafolls.<\/span><\/p>\n

L’actual masia de can Toni Joan \u00e9s de construcci\u00f3 moderna. L’antiga va ser destru\u00efda durant la guerra civil per un ob\u00fas llen\u00e7at des d’un vaixell. <\/span><\/p>\n
